News and Journal Drawings

logoPartner

We use a listening prayer model of journal drawing taught to us by our partners (since 2014) at Pebbles and Stones. Our children listen to a short Bible lesson and then take quiet time to listen to God and draw what He speaks to them/what is on their hearts. You can see and read here actual journal entries from our students."

My Sheep Know My Voice

Several students (some who are now staff members) have recently been touched deeply by the Lord. In 2 separate prayer sessions they prayed for over an hour. (Their choice, not ours. 🙂 )During this time of prayer, one of the youth said that God knew the Heart of Hope students have had much trauma but that He wants to heal it. Below is the image of a scarred heart that God gave to our student while he prayed. The good news is that God assured him that God will heal the pain and trauma of anyone who brings his/her heart to the Lord.

Together Again

This student wrote: “I want to have a happy family whose hearts are full of love. God’s love is so great and bigger than any person—big like a tree.” After drawing this picture this boy told the teacher that his parents left him with his grandparents and he feels unloved. The following week when the teacher asked if he was able to visit with his parents over the weekend he said, “I don’t have to visit them anymore. We are living together again.”

Cam On Chua

This student writes “Cam on Chua” meaning Thank you God. She was hit by a car but did not fall down and was not injured. She is thankful that God was watching over her.

A Church For My Family And Friends

One of our students drew a picture of the community with many small stilted houses, one had a cross on it. She shared that she wants to see a church in the community. This is also what God has stirred in our hearts so we have begun a Sunday worship service 1-2 times a month in 2016 and will continue into 2017. Please pray for the Heart of Hope staff and all who participate.
